. Organize the classroom; present lessons and learning resources that engage and motivate students to learn and develop.

2. Maintain a focus on student achievement and use data and other information to monitor the learning of every student and plan to effectively meet their development needs.

3. Create differentiated lesson plans, which enable students to make the next steps in their learning, that meet the objectives of the New York State Standards within all areas of the elementary curriculum.

4. To ensure that lesson plans and the classroom environment meet the needs of all students identified as having Special Educational Needs (SEN) and are in line with their Individual Education Plans (IEP).

5. Assess, record, and report on student development and progress, to identify improvements for all students, including those with special educational needs, according to Star Assessment Levels or other standardized performance indicators.
6. Develop and maintain an effective partnership with parents to support and improve students’ achievement and personal development. Communicate student progress, performance, and development to students and parents on an ongoing basis, informally as well as formally within defined parameters and timeframes as determined by the school policy.

Work collaboratively with colleagues within the school and undertake other duties as may be requested by the Principal or Vice Principal which support the effective management of the school, including:
