Carpenter / Handyman.

Jairam Building Contractor is accepting applications from suitably qualified Caymanians and persons legally entitled to work in the Cayman Islands through residency or marriage for the position of Carpenter/Handyman.

The successful applicant will be responsible for completing carpentry and general handyman work across construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform rough and finish carpentry, including installations and repairs
- Carry out interior and exterior painting
- Complete general plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Diagnose and complete basic air-conditioning maintenance and repairs
- Diagnose and complete basic electrical maintenance and repairs
- Identify maintenance issues and determine the materials and work required
- Perform preventative maintenance and general property repairs
- Work independently and complete assigned work efficiently
- Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications and Experience:

- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in carpentry and general maintenance
- Strong practical experience in rough and finish carpentry is essential
- Applicants must also be capable of performing work in all of the following
areas: painting, plumbing, air-conditioning and electrical maintenance
- Ability to use the necessary tools and equipment safely
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs with minimal supervision
- Must be reliable, punctual, self-motivated and hardworking.
- Must be willing to work variable hours as project requirements dictate.
