Typical Duties
• Obtain and monitors clients vitals and record them in their file.
• Manages client care according to each client’s needs
• Provide routine care as stipulated in care plan
• Maintain the cleanliness and comfort of clients. This includes all activities of daily living being, bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Preparation of meals for client
• Observes client health and progress and provide report to Registered Nurse
• Participates in client treatment regimen, including administering medications
• Establishes and documents client treatment regimen under supervision of RN or attending physician
• Update client records in a confidential manner
• Wound care - with RN Guidance
• Catheter Care inclusive of cleaning and input and output monitoring
• Change dressings and bandages, ensuring that client is healing properly
• Safe client transfers from wheelchairs, beds and gurneys
• Change linen and make beds
• Do laundry for client
• Light housekeeping – ensure the client area is kept neat and tidy
• Garbage disposal -Take out trash
• Run small errands (pick up prescriptions on behalf of client)
• Help with walking and light exercises
• Engage in mental and physical exercises
• Escort client to appointments such as doctors, physical therapy, hair salon etc
• Engage in regular activities, talking, games, reading
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Make note of any significant changes in client and immediately report to RN
• Accompany client and emergency medical technicians when there is an emergency.
• Liaising with doctors and nurses upon arrival at hospital
