ROLE PURPOSE:
Highvern is expanding into provision of fund services and the role holder is primarily responsible to serving as a Non Executive Director on client investment fund boards on a variety of strategies and structures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the development of a market-leading funds and director services enabling immediate recognition and attractiveness amongst target clients
2. Serve as a Non-Executive Director on client boards, attend board meetings, provide independent judgment, oversight of service providers, and act in accordance with CIMA’s corporate governance rules.
3. Assess risk management, valuation, liquidity, operational, and compliance frameworks.
4. In line with business growth, build best practices, templates, precedents and complementary service offerings.
5. Monitor regulatory compliance and governance standards. Stay up to date with all jurisdictional regulatory requirements for funds.
6. In line with business growth, act as the senior point of contact for clients allocated, ensuring development of long-term client relationships built on market-leading service quality and value-add innovation
7. Ensure achievement of revenue, cost and profitability targets, optimising the deployment and use of company resources
8. Develop and implement a successful, differentiated, cost-effective marketing strategy complementary to that of HTL and support the business development activity
9. Assist in developing & applying an appropriate, robust risk appetite, compliance & governance framework, complementary to HTL’s
10. Build a strong reputation through positive relations with external stakeholders including regulators, wider industry & media
11. Full collaboration with and support for Highvern group in its own development, incl. generating 2-way referral opportunities
SKILLS,KNOWLEDGE& EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Minimum 10 years' experience in investment funds, asset management, legal, accounting, regulatory, or fiduciary services.
• Strong understanding of hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, private credit funds, or other alternative investment structures.
• Understanding of Cayman Islands fund governance and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to review and challenge financial, operational, and risk reporting.
• 10 years accounting experience in the financial services industry, seven years at manager level or above.
• Fund audit and accounting background, at manager level or higher, preferably in a multi-jurisdictional business and with in-depth experience in more than one offshore funds jurisdiction (Jersey and Cayman preferable).
• Proven enhanced accounting technical expertise across various alternative and complex asset classes (e.g. Private Equity, Structured Debt, Hedge Funds).
• Excellent communication and influencing skills and experience of working within a group environment, managing key and high-level stakeholders internally and externally.
• Track record demonstrating ability to progress range of issues and projects simultaneously including audit, business planning, team management, compliance and related matters.
• Experience in a business development and/or marketing capacity would be an advantage.
Preferred Minimum Qualification:
• Professionally qualified accountant, preferably big four accountancy firm
