Asphalt Plant Operator/Laboratory Technician.

Operating a drum type hot mix asphalt plant. Performing laboratory testing of soils, aggregates and hot mix asphalt to confirm compliance job specifications. Must have a minimum of 10 years’ verifiable experience working in the paving industry with at least 5 years’ operating a drum mix asphalt manufacturing plant and have prior experience as a Laboratory Technician. Must have an in-depth working knowledge and understanding of asphalt plant operation with experience in producing various types of asphalt mix designs. Prior experience operating a modern drum mix asphalt plant, performing routine servicing, and assisting with troubleshooting and repairs is a prerequisite. Must know how to perform all types of asphalt testing as required for compliance with various specifications and in line with ASTM and AASHTO standards. Must have extensive knowledge of the safety procedures applicable to manufacturing and testing of hot mix asphalt. Only applicants meeting the above qualification will be interviewed. A test of skills and knowledge will be administered to qualified candidates. Must have a valid drivers’ license, with a clean police and driving record. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays when required. Random drug and alcohol testing may be required.
