Architectural Technologist.

Frederick + McRae Ltd. is currently seeking candidates to join our growing team for the position of Architectural Technologist. We are a multi-disciplined design firm specializing in corporate interiors, commercial buildings, and residential homes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about design and have a strong design sense and visualization skills.

Position Description:
• Assist the design team and/or lead design efforts on Architectural & Interior projects and participate in all phases of design development
• Conceptualize and describe design ideas through 2D/3D visualization and hand-sketching
• Responsible for the refinement of the overall project from schematic design through construction and project close-out
• Develop and oversee the production of design detailing and construction documentation
• Preparation of presentation design, design development, and construction documentation drawings
• Possess a thorough knowledge of building materials and construction methods
• Skills in AutoCAD and Revit with knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop are desired
• Have a working knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering systems
• Interface with clients, contractors, and consultants
• Contract administration, including site review, payment certificates & monitoring change orders
• Organize and prioritize own work efforts
• Assist in the establishment of design fees, budgets, and schedules
• Contribute to a team approach through the spirit of collaboration

Qualifications & Experience:
The successful candidate must be a graduate of a recognized Architectural Technologist degree program or have a BSC degree in Architecture with a minimum of 10 years of experience and an understanding of building codes and building systems. Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills in addition to organizational and analytical skills, are essential. Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize while performing on multiple simultaneous projects is a must.

The salary range for this position is CI$72,000 - $84,000 per annum and dependent on experience and qualifications, plus statutory benefits as required by law.
