Wood Moudling Maker.

The tasks a Moulder, Wood is expected to perform include:

Setting and operating moulding machine for cutting sides of wooden boards, frames etc. to required shape

Making specific grooves and profiles with form cutters

Studying the drawing or sample to determine shape to be cut

Selecting suitable cutting blades and fixing them to rotating spindles of machine

Setting blades in required position or angle and fastens them securely using spanners

Fitting different types of cutters to different spindles of machine depending on type of cutting required, such as for grooves, profiles, etc.

Adjusting the machine table to desired position or height for size of cut to be made and setting guides to hold stock in position

Checking trial piece and re-adjusting the machine if required

Shoving wood stock between feed rolls which automatically carry pieces through the machine for machining and continuing operation
Familiar with operating moulding machine

Ability to study the drawings to determine the shape to cut

Knowledge of using form cutters

Knowledge of selecting cutting blades

Well-versed with cleaning and oiling the machine

Knowledge of cutting triple pairs

Knowledge of different types of cutters

Knowledge of grinding knives to correct profile

Ability to operate other wood cutting machines.

Knowledge of designing jigs and fixtures for repetitive or specific machining operation
