LICENSED WIREMAN
CI$13.00 to CI$35.00 per hour
JOB DESCRIPTION
Skillfully perform basic supervision, calculation, installation, testing and maintenance of electrical systems as described below;
Correctly instruct, supervise, and transfer skill to any apprentice worker assigned to him to ensure safety and quality of work
Read and interpret basic electrical specifications, wiring and circuit diagrams, and building plans
Perform basic electrical calculations associated with current carrying capacity of cables, wires derating, mixed conduit fills, fuses, and circuit protective devices sizing
Install all conduit sizes 1/2" to 4", including advanced knowledge of EMT conduit bending
Install all types of commonly used wiring, wiring accessories including but not limited to data, phone, tv, bms, cctv, security, fire alarm and power systems
Install electrical equipment such as lights, switches, receptacles, motor starters, controllers, switchgears, switchboards, busbars, transformers, control panels and etc
Perform basic inspection, test and commissioning of the above listed installations and wiring in accordance with regulations and project specifications, and guidelines
Perform basic troubleshooting, maintenance and repair the above listed installations and wiring in accordance with regulations and project specifications, and guidelines
Use safety equipment, and protective devices and equipment as per safety and health guidelines and environmental concerns
Carry out mechanical fitting and assembling works including heavy lifting and pulling up to 100lb
Work weekends, nights, swing shifts and holidays on extended schedule basis or as may be required
Work at heights over 25’ on ladders, raised platforms, lifts, crane cages, manholes, trenches, ditches, roofs. Must be able to climb stairways of 10 story buildings
Work in adverse conditions including but not limited to rain, wet, hot (+100degF), freezing (-10degF)
Complete and submit paperwork on a computerized system (timecards, materials forms, invoices, etc.) according to company policies and procedures
REQUIREMENTS
Clean Police Record
Valid Driver’s License
Ownership of electrical tools (list upon request) and battery screw gun
Valid Cayman Islands Electrical Wireman License or NEC Electrician’s License.
Successful completion of written electrical test
Successful competition of hands-on installation test
Successful completion of a recognized Electrical Wireman or equivalent apprenticeship and experience
Identify different types of cables and wires, including colors of cables
Extensive experience in commercial and residential installation
Computer Literate with competency in Microsoft applications
High School Graduate or Equivalent
Preferred education: Associate Degree or 2-year equivalent such as trade school or apprenticeship program
Designations / Certifications: Electrical license
