STORE MANAGER.

• Increase sales and profit utilisation of methods as outlined in the budget;
• Oversee and maintain accurate inventory, monitoring cycle counts;
• Negotiation of external and internal contracts/pricing with Vendors/Suppliers;
• Protect Company interests of all business related matters and against all losses;
• Build a sense of team spirit with high morale maintaining excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing;
• Help to protect Company assets; building, equipment and motor vehicles by controlling damages, and promoting safety, of all Company assets making sure that they are in maximum operational condition;
• Oversee the planning of holiday schedules, inventory preparation budgeting, expense control and daily issues that arise;
• Monitor effectiveness of operations and necessity of change to improve overall operations;
• Monitor performance of quality, productivity and credits;
• Assure that all store personnel are courteous to customers and that all customer complaints/requests are handled promptly and professionally;
• Ultimately responsible for all cash accountability and accurate store book keeping;
• Responsible for maximum utilization of store personnel through effective scheduling, counselling and evaluating programs, training programs, motivation and supervision;
• Act as company representative both within the store and within the community;
• Responsible for preparation of Store’s operating annual budget; making sure the Company operates within the budget and maximizes profitability and growth;
• Maintain efficient and knowledgeable method of operation through chairing regular Department Manager meetings;
• Submitting weekly summary reports to the Board of Directors outlining on going and completed projects alongside any other issues;
• To be available in the event of any form of emergency;
• Tour all Departments on a continual basis to insure that standards of cleanliness, safety and production are being achieved. Make any changes necessary to expedite end result;
• Responsible for optimum freshness of all products and proper merchandising to achieve maximum sales and profits;
• Maintain communication with the Human Resources Department for any personnel issues including hiring, performance appraisals, injuries, disciplinary action and any recommended terminations or Department moves;
• Oversee implementation of discount, price protection and sign programs;
• Implement and maintain effective fire and safety programs within the store;
• Implement and maintain effective security standards within the store;
• Responsible for payroll administration for all employees in the store;
• Undertake yearly performance appraisals for all members of management;
• Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook;
• Plan, organise, direct and control Store activities by distributing assignments to all department Managers and supervisors based on workload, and make any changes that may be necessary to overcome opportunities;
• Researching and defining new trends within the supermarket industry, and implement new initiatives upon agreement from the Board of Directors;
• To undertake any reasonable project or tasks assigned by the Board of Directors.
• Review sales floor to check pricing of specials.
• Walk the store to check for expired special or temporary price reduction( TPR)
• Establish and maintain an in-store policy that promotes communication between store clerks and managers.
• Enforce a front end policy with all cashiers to inform management of happenings in the store
• Represent the store sales representative and vendors in a positive and professional manner.
• Greet customers and be observant.
• Abide by all company policies as stated in the employee handbook.
• Schedules must be approved by managers and staff sick days must be reported.
