Stone Setter
We are seeking an experienced Stone Setter to join our skilled team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, cutting, shaping, and installation of granite and other natural stone materials for residential and commercial projects. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
This advertisement is being placed in connection with a work permit application. Duties and Responsibilities
• Measure, cut, shape, and finish granite and stone materials according to project specifications
• Install stone countertops, surfaces, and related features in residential and commercial properties
• Read and interpret drawings, templates, and project specifications
• Ensure accurate alignment, leveling, and secure fitting of stone installations
• Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and stone fabrication equipment
• Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and industry best practices
• Coordinate with supervisors, designers, and team members to meet project timelines
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a Stone Setter or in a similar stone or granite installation role
• Strong knowledge of stone materials, fabrication methods, and installation techniques
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual tasks
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working on both residential and commercial projects
• Familiarity with Cayman Islands construction standards and site practices
• Valid driver’s license
Technical Skills and Competencies
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and stone cutting equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, templates, and measurements
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
