• Masons must have the ability to construct commercial and residential buildings, sidewalks, driveways and fences.
• Review blueprints on one story structures prior to construction.
• Lay building materials such as concrete blocks, ceramic tiles utilizing mortar/material substances.
• Calculate mixture ratios, square footage and angles to determine the amount of material required for project.
• Prepare work sites by clearing and smoothing surfaces.
• Construct forms, supports and bracing systems, for the pouring of foundation.
• Prepare and disassemble scaffoldings.
• Prepare concrete by mixing cement with water, sand and gravel.
• Lay concrete blocks in the proper configurations according to plans.
• Level and smooth concrete using power trowel, bull float and rods to create level surfaces.
• Apply coatings to concrete structures inclusive of stains, sealer and curing agents.
• Smooth final surfaces by removing excess mortar and finishing joints.
• Repair structural and superficial damage to various masonry work.
• Restore and replace mortar joints.
• Carpenters must have the ability to interpret plans, measure and mark using tapes, squares, levels, etc. Utilize carpentry tools, construct framings for walls, floors, roofs, decks, driveways, etc for residential and commercial buildings. Install fixtures such as doors, crown moldings, baseboards, cabinets, etc.
• Steelers must have the ability to conduct steel work by erecting structure framework.
• Painters must have the ability to apply primer to seal surfaces for paint jobs and marmoran. Must have ability to use sprayers to apply paint, stain or sealant and also have experience in trimming and edging corners, baseboards, windows and doors with precision.
• Tilers must have the ability and experience to tile walls, flooring, etc. Calculate tile quantity, marking guidelines and planning cuts for symmetry. Ability to use wet saws, snap cutters or nibblers to shape tiles for edges, corners or fixtures.
