The Marketing Manager leads the strategy, planning and delivery of marketing across Mise en Place Ltd and its portfolio of brands. Combining commercial judgement with strong creative execution, the role turns business priorities into campaigns and content that build awareness, strengthen customer relationships and support revenue growth. Working closely with ownership, department heads and operational teams, the Marketing Manager ensures every brand is distinctive, consistent and professionally represented across all customer touchpoints.
Scope of the Role
The role supports the full Mise en Place portfolio and must balance group-wide priorities with the individual needs, audiences and commercial objectives of each entity. It requires regular engagement across office, hospitality, catering, events and other operating environments, including occasional work outside standard hours where campaigns, events or business needs require it.
Key Responsibilities
• Group marketing strategy: Develop and deliver an annual marketing plan aligned with the commercial priorities of Mise en Place and each entity, with clear objectives, audiences, timelines and measures of success.
• Multi-brand management: Oversee the positioning, voice and visual identity of the group’s portfolio, ensuring each brand remains distinctive while meeting agreed group standards.
• Campaign leadership: Plan and execute integrated campaigns across digital, social media, email, web, print, partnerships, events and on-site channels.
• Content and creative direction: Own the content calendar and guide photography, video, copy and design from brief through approval and delivery.
• Digital channels: Lead social media, website and email marketing activity, including publishing, community engagement, platform standards and ongoing optimisation.
• Commercial support: Partner with operations, sales, events, catering and other departments to support revenue growth, customer retention, product launches, seasonal activity and new business opportunities.
• Budget management: Prepare, manage and track the marketing budget, obtain appropriate approvals and ensure spending delivers value.
• Insight and reporting: Monitor customer, competitor and market trends; define meaningful KPIs; and provide regular performance reports with practical recommendations.
• Team leadership: Set priorities, allocate work, coach marketing team members and maintain clear standards, deadlines and accountability.
• Agency and supplier management: Source, brief and manage external designers, photographers, media partners, printers and other suppliers.
• Stakeholder management: Build effective working relationships with ownership, department heads, venue teams, clients, schools, partners and community stakeholders.
• Brand governance: Maintain brand guidelines, asset libraries, templates, account access and approval processes across all entities.
• Reputation and communications: Support internal and external communications and respond promptly and professionally to routine brand or customer issues, escalating sensitive matters appropriately.
• Cross-functional delivery: Attend relevant planning meetings, coordinate competing priorities and ensure agreed marketing actions are completed accurately and on time.
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree or recognized qualification in marketing, communications, business or a related field, or equivalent senior-level experience.
• At least five years’ progressive marketing experience, including responsibility for strategy, budgets, campaigns and multiple brands or business units.
• Demonstrated experience leading people, agencies, suppliers or complex cross-functional projects.
• Strong portfolio of integrated campaigns and measurable marketing results.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the judgement to adapt communications for different brands and audiences.
• Strong working knowledge of social media management, email marketing, content planning, digital advertising, analytics and website content management.
• Competence with platforms and tools such as Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Squarespace and Microsoft 365.
• Commercially aware, highly organized and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Hospitality, food service, catering, events or multi-site business experience is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel between company locations as required.

Key Competencies
• Commercial thinking: Connects marketing activity to customer needs, business priorities and measurable results.
• Leadership and ownership: Sets direction, follows through and holds self and others accountable for quality and deadlines.
• Creative judgement: Develops strong ideas while protecting brand standards and business objectives.
• Collaboration: Builds credibility across different teams and turns varied stakeholder needs into clear, workable plans.
• Organization: Manages competing priorities, budgets and detailed delivery without losing sight of the wider strategy.
• Adaptability: Remains calm, practical and solutions-focused in a fast-moving, service-led environment.
Success Measures
Success will be measured through delivery of the agreed marketing plan and budget; growth in relevant reach, engagement, enquiries, bookings or sales; improved campaign performance; consistent brand presentation across entities; timely support for operational priorities; accurate reporting; and effective leadership of internal and external marketing resources.
