Job Title: Maintenance Person
Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Person to ensure the upkeep and repair of residential or commercial properties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the general appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of the property, and handling routine maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine inspections of properties to ensure they are in good condition.
• Address and resolve maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Handle general repairs, including carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and other maintenance tasks as needed.
• Ensure common areas are clean and safe, including hallways, lobbies, stairwells, and outdoor spaces.
• Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance work performed, including work orders and materials used.
• Coordinate with vendors or contractors for larger repair projects or services.
• Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, including emergency preparedness and fire safety measures.
• Assist in preparing vacant units for new tenants, ensuring they meet cleanliness and maintenance standards.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification in maintenance is a plus).
• 5+ years’ experience working in a similar role
• Proven experience in property maintenance, general construction, or related fields.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in property maintenance.
• Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and efficient manner.
Working Conditions:
• Must be available for on-call maintenance requests during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• May involve some weekend or evening work to accommodate schedules.
• Must have a valid Cayman Islands Drivers License and have own vehicle.
Salary: CI$10 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications plus statutory benefits as required by law. Will be required to work approx. 180 hours per month.
