GENERAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN.

Cayman Crystal Caves is seeking a responsible, dependable and skilled General Maintenance Technician to assist with maintaining our buildings, grounds, equipment, vehicles and visitor facilities.
The successful candidate will be practical, safety-conscious and able to identify and address maintenance needs promptly. This is a hands-on position that requires physical stamina, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a unique natural attraction.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance of the grounds and facilities, including buildings, decking, nature trails, roads, parking areas and other visitor spaces.
• Assist with the careful upkeep of the natural cave environment in accordance with the Company’s approved procedures.
• Carry out general repairs and minor carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical maintenance within the employee’s level of training and competence.
• Perform landscaping and groundskeeping duties, including trimming, clearing, cleaning and general site upkeep.
• Complete preventative maintenance and minor repairs on Company equipment, tools and facilities.
• Clean, refuel and perform assigned daily and weekly maintenance checks on Company vehicles.
• Promptly identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, equipment defects and required repairs.
• Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools and other maintenance equipment.
• Maintain accurate paper and electronic maintenance, inspection and service records.
• Assist with monitoring maintenance supplies, tools and replacement parts.
• Follow and help enforce all health, safety, security and environmental procedures for guests and employees.
• Maintain First Aid, CPR and AED certification through Company-provided or assigned training and provide assistance when required.
• Consistently uphold the service standards and values of the Company’s PRIDE programme.
• Assist with special projects and perform other reasonable duties related to the position.

Requirements and Skills:
• Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, landscaping or a similar hands-on role.
• Basic carpentry and masonry skills.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical systems.
• Ability to identify maintenance problems and complete minor repairs safely and effectively.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a responsible, proactive approach to work.
• Good organizational, communication and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to customer service, workplace safety and protecting the natural environment.
• A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to successfully complete applicable background and police-clearance checks.
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification would be an asset; training may be provided.
• An interest in the natural environment, history and culture of the Cayman Islands would be an advantage.
Physical and Working Conditions

The successful candidate must be able to:
• Perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting and carrying equipment and materials.
• Work outdoors in heat, humidity and rain.
• Work safely on uneven terrain, nature trails and within cave environments.
• Work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, public holidays and occasional on-call duties.
