Concrete Pump Operator.

LG Contracting is seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and highly experienced Concrete Pump Operator to operate and maintain a 2019 Putzmeister BSF 38-5.16 concrete pump truck on construction projects throughout the Cayman Islands. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient placement of concrete pump truck, safely setting up pumping systems and operating hydraulic booms to precisely place wet concrete.

Key Responsibilities
• Equipment Operation: Safely set up, operate, manoeuvre, and dismantle the 2019 Putzmeister BSF 38-5.16 concrete pump system at various project sites.
• Site Coordination: Collaborate closely with project management, supervisors, site safety personnel, and construction crews to ensure efficient concrete placement in compliance with company policies.
• Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive pre-trip, post-trip, and daily equipment inspections. Monitor pumping activities in real time to maintain a consistent, uninterrupted concrete flow.
• Cleaning & Tear-Down: Thoroughly wash out the pump, hopper, and hoses immediately after a pour to prevent concrete hardening. Retrieve cleaning sponge balls and properly stow all equipment.
• Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance on pump lines, hoses, boom systems, and associated equipment. Diagnose unexpected pump failures or hydraulic issues quickly on-site to minimize downtime.
• Documentation & Safety: Complete daily equipment inspection reports, operational logs, and required paperwork. Immediately report all equipment defects, near-misses, incidents, or safety hazards to management.
• General Duties: Comply with all company health and safety regulations, wear mandated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and assist with general site duties as required.

Required Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of 9 years of direct experience in a concrete pump operator role.
• Equipment Expertise: Proven, extensive training and thorough working knowledge specific to the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a 2019 Putzmeister BSF 38-5.16 concrete pump.
• Licensing: Valid Cayman Islands Driver’s Licence appropriate for heavy commercial vehicles, with a clean driving record.
• Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
• Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of hydraulics and machinery mechanics.
• Communication: Full professional proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) to follow technical work instructions, fill out logs, and communicate effectively with site personnel.
• Professionalism: Reliable, punctual, safety-focused, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team. Must arrive at work on time with all required tools and PPE.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
• Physical Strength: Ability to manoeuvre, push, and lift heavy equipment weighing up to 75lbs regulary, drag heavy hoses and navigate rough and muddy terrain.
• Agility: Ability to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, stand, and navigate physically demanding, active construction environments safely.
• Environment: Comfortable working outdoors around heavy machinery with regular exposure to variable weather conditions, dust, noise, and mud.
• Scheduling Flexibility: Must be able to work flexible hours, including early morning starts, late finishes, evenings, weekends, and overtime to accommodate peak construction schedules.
