Key Responsibilities
Prepare, season, marinate, and cook jerk chicken, pork, fish, and other menu items according to company recipes.
Operate and maintain the jerk grill and cooking equipment safely and efficiently.
Prepare side dishes, sauces, and accompaniments, including rice and peas, festivals, plantains, and coleslaw.
Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented to a high standard.
Monitor food quality and portion sizes to minimize waste.
Maintain adequate stock levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
Receive, inspect, and properly store food deliveries.
Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, grills, utensils, and food preparation areas.
Assist with opening and closing duties, including food preparation and end-of-day cleaning.
Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality and service standards.
Provide friendly and professional customer service when required.
Requirements
Minimum 2–3 years' experience as a Chef, Grill Cook, or Jerk Chef.
Experience preparing and cooking authentic jerk cuisine is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and safe food handling practices.
Ability to work over open flames and high-temperature grills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Good time management and organizational skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
