Job Overview
Dwainey Construction is seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter to join our team for residential and commercial building projects across Grand Cayman. The successful candidate will handle rough framing, structural woodwork, and high-end finish carpentry with high precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret architectural blueprints, structural drawings, and building specifications.
Construct, frame, erect, and repair wooden and structural frameworks (walls, subfloors, roofs, trusses, and partitions).
Execute detailed finish carpentry, including the installation of doors, windows, trims, baseboards, cabinetry, and exterior siding.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
Build and strip concrete formwork and scaffolding where required.
Ensure all work complies with the Cayman Islands Building Code and company safety standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite; monitor inventory and report material shortages.
Requirements & Experience
Experience: Minimum of 5–10 years of documented, hands-on carpentry experience required. Over 20 years of experience strongly preferred.
Strong working knowledge of both rough and finish carpentry techniques.
Demonstrated ability to operate power tools, cutting machinery, and measuring instruments safely and accurately.
Physical stamina to perform strenuous tasks, lift heavy materials (50+ lbs), work at heights, and work outdoors in hot/humid tropical conditions.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
A clean police clearance record and reliable transportation (valid driver's license preferred).
